Christmas Gifties

Today is my last day of work before my holidays begin. I brought cookies for the people I work for as a small gift. I made star shaped sugar cookies and figgie moons. They're a Christmas cookie/pocket filled with figs, walnuts, honey, raisins and some orange zest. I wrapped each box up with some raffia and string.

I always have fun wrapping up gifts. I hope everyone likes the cookies.

Christmas Gift List and Winter Wish List...

This is my Christmas gift guide but I guess it's really more of a wish list.

Clockwise from top right are Bird by Danish Kristian Vedel. Each bird represents a member of a family, child, parent and grandparent. They are so beautifully expressive. Next are Frye boots. Every year I dream about having a pair. One year it will happen. Next is a Moleskine sketchbook. I fill one of these every semester. The paper is so nice and they are the perfect size to carry in my purse. Fourth is the large pouch from Bookhoo designs in Toronto. I've already bought a tote from here but this clutch is so nice too. Lastly are cosy wool socks. I can never have too many wool socks. I wear them every day of the whole winter.

This winter I am loving the warm textures of leather, wood and wool.

Christmas Tree

Christmas just snuck up on me this year. I feel like I missed November and December somehow. For the first time since I moved away from home I bought a Christmas tree for my apartment. I'm a bit of a Christmas tree purist and I firmly believe that it must be a real tree or no tree. I love the smell of the pine tree in the house. It brightens up the apartment so much that I will be sad to take it down after Christmas.

I didn't want to spend too much on decorations this year so I used some lightbulbs that I already had and tied some pretty blue string around the sockets. I also bought some pinecones at the dollar store.
